Things I wish I knew before becoming a homeschool mom

1. It’s not just your children who’ll be growing. You’re going to become more of who you were wonderfully created by God to be.
2. Your ideas on education and what an educated person is, will undergo a huge, brilliant paradigm shift.
3. Your homeschool will not look like anyone else’s, and that’s the way it should be! Your family is uniquely made on purpose by God.
4. Look up from the pages of the curriculum and lesson plans! SEE your child. No book, save the Bible, can tell you exactly what you need to provide a life-giving learning and discipleship experience for the child on your knee.
5. YOU are not the teacher. All your efforts are like smearing jam on glass windows, UNLESS you work in co-operation with the Holy Spirit. Only HE has direct access to your child’s spirit, and can therefore truly teach her.
